Project Updates

10/6/2016

Odom Engineering has several projects underway across the region taking our team into Rutherford, Cleveland, Catawba and Henderson Counties of Western North Carolina. For each project, Odom is providing the site plan engineering and design, and additional services may include a grading plan and an erosion control plan.

In Shelby, Odom Engineering is spearheading the upgrade and replacement of town utilities, which includes designing a waterline extension plan and securing necessary permits. In Boiling Springs, our team is designing plans for the N. Main Street Beautification Project including a new sidewalk equipped with sphere bollards for safety and islands for curb appeal.

Odom Engineering is also engaged in the Cleghorn Sewer Project in Rutherfordton and helped the town procure funding through the NC Department of Commerce Rural Grant Program. The Odom team completed the grant application for the project, which included securing a Fast Track Sewer permit from NCDEQ, encroachment agreements from NCDOT, approval of plans and specifications from the town, and easement agreements from property owners. Odom also performed the preliminary engineering report. This formal project is now moving into the construction phase.

In Hendersonville, Odom Engineering is working on the site plan and easement agreements for the Signal Hill apartment complex, which includes sewer line extension, a grading plan and a parking lot layout.

Odom Engineering is also pleased to be working on several other projects across North Carolina including the lift station replacement in Spindale and the Hampton Inn development in Lenoir.

Odom Engineering Adds Traffic & Roadway Services

5/26/2016

Odom Engineering, lead engineer of Tryon International Equestrian Center (TIEC), is expanding its repertoire of services to include roadway and traffic engineering. To solve, mitigate and eliminate challenges for vehicles, Odom is engineering the relocation of John Sheehan Road, which leads into TIEC.
The road will be moved back 500 feet to accommodate a traffic circle, in order to relieve congestion of visitors arriving to and leaving the equestrian center. By offering roadway studies, analyses and solutions, Odom seeks to improve traffic flow for businesses, planning organizations, developers and more throughout the region.
