Wayne Watkins Construction & Environmental Oversight Manager
Wayne Watkins joined Odom Engineering, PLLC in 2015 as the Construction Manager and Environmental Oversight staff member. He has a wide range of experience in Civil / Environmental Engineering design, planning, permitting, development and construction management.
His 30 years of private and public engineering responsibilities include; Municipal water/sewer design/construction, Highway construction and site development, North Carolina Division of Environmental regulatory experience, Project construction administration and environmental compliance.
Current construction management and environmental oversight projects include; The Tryon International Equestrian Center, Private equestrian farms and facilities, Residential development projects, Municipal water/sewer construction, Stream restoration projects, Erosion control and post construction stormwater environmental permit compliance.
Watkins managed the Capital Improvement program of the Metropolitan Sewerage District for 10 years and served as an Environmental Specialist at the North Carolina Department of Environmental Quality – Land Quality section for 12 years prior to joining Odom Engineering, PLLC.
Prior to his civil engineering career Wayne followed a passion for Landscape Architecture, Ornamental Horticulture and Golf Course Construction with twenty years as a N.C. licensed Landscape Contractor and several golf course construction and supervisory assignments.
Wayne is a Certified Professional in Erosion and Sediment Control (CPESC, 2013), member of the International Erosion Control Association and degreed in Environmental Science.
He and his wife Debbie reside in Henderson County, enjoy outdoor life and are involved in community activities.
